On Friday, November 11th, Intervarsity held a Mario Kart tournament for the entire building in an effort for the residents of Melcher to get to know the people in Intervarsity and vice versa. They started out with a prayer and then the event started. In between races, there was also ping pong, pool, snacks, and drinks. It was a fun way to diversify yourself by learning a little about Intervarsity and their religion.
On Sunday, Oct. 2, a couple residents of 2 West and I went to see the Comedians Dean Obeidallah and Scott Blakeman. Through their jokes, they tried to build bridges, promote tolerance and encourage conflict resolution between Jews, Muslims, Arabs, and people of all backgrounds. If you missed them and would like to see some of their material, here is a link to follow.
